Miguel Angel Jimenez celebrates his hole-in-one on the 2nd hole

Magnus A Carlsson and Wade Ormsby's holes-in-one on day three of the KLM Open were the 40th and 41st in The 2015 Race to Dubai, setting a new record for most aces in a single European Tour season.

Swede Carlsson's pin-point three iron into the 227-yard eighth at Kennemer G&CC meant the 2015 campaign overtook the 39 holes-in-one made in the 2006 season.

And after a barren spell of seven tournaments without a hole-in-one, just an hour or so after Carlsson's effort Australian Ormsby made it two aces on Saturday with another at the Zandvoort venue, this time coming via a seven iron at the 169-yard 11th hole.

Aces high!

South Africa's Michael Hollick made the first hole-in-one in The 2015 Race to Dubai at the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek back in December, kicking off an incredible run of picture perfect par three efforts.

Evergreen Spaniard Miguel Angel Jimenez has been responsible for three of the 41 with that iconic dance brought out the locker at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, the Open de Espana and the BMW PGA Championship, and Dane Morten Orum Madsen has made two aces this year - at the Tshwane Open and Shenzhen International - while Byeong Hun An has also made a perfect pair, too - in Abu Dhabi and at the Shenzhen tournament.

Thailand's Panuphol Pittayarat won a townhouse worth 12m baht for his slam dunk at the inaugural Thailand Classic, while Spain's Javier Colomo made a unique hole-in-one albatross on a par four at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.

Meanwhile, a total of five aces were made at the flagship BMW PGA Championship, with Jimenez joined in the holes-in-one club by Trevor Fisher Jnr, Craig Lee, Andrew Johnston, who undoubtedly had one of the celebrations of the year, and Chris Wood, who won a BMW i8 for his memorable ace on the 14th at Wentworth. This quality quintet was the most in BMW PGA Championship history and the joint-second most in a single event in European Tour history.
