Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship day two - What they said

Martin Kaymer fired a second consecutive 66 on Friday as he looks to claim a fourth title at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

The German's 12 under total gave him a one-shot lead heading into the weekend at Abu Dhabi Golf Club and here, we take a look at what some of the chasing pack had to say following their second rounds.

Tommy Fleetwood (67, -10)

"Very good, I played well both days, really. Got off to a dodgy start yesterday with a bogey on the tenth but apart from that I played lovely. Didn't really do much wrong, just picked away at it today. I want to get back in the top 50 in the world as quick as I can, however long that takes. That's where everybody wants to be, playing those kind of tournaments, the Majors and the WGCs. It's just starting off in a different place than last year. Last year I was really struggling and I struggled for a bit. Got my game back and now it's sort of, get results. I've played two good rounds of golf but we'll stick at this. It's nice to start off with two good rounds for the year."

Paul Dunne (66, -10)

"It's good, my game feels in good shape. I'm hitting a lot of good iron shots and giving myself a lot of chances. With the greens being as good as they are, you are bound to take a few. It's exciting, I'm looking forward to a good weekend. This is kind of what we were thinking about over Christmas. It's nice to get off to a good start but that's all it is, we're only halfway there. Hopefully we keep doing what we're doing and post some of the same numbers again. If I can keep the ball in play like I have the last couple of days, just give myself an iron in my hands in the short grass, I'm pretty confident."

Kiradech Aphibarnrat (68, -10)

"It's been great, it's a very good start to the 2017 season, two shots back. I just try to work on the game, focus on my swing and the game-plan and don't worry about the results, just accept it. My hitting is still good. I had a couple of missed shots but the golf course is not really easy when you've got a missed shot so it's quite difficult to get to the greens. I had a couple of good up-and-downs and a lot of good putts today."

Henrik Stenson (71, -9)

"I'm still at the races. To be fair, I actually felt better with my long game today. I might not have taken advantage of it and it was a tricky day for sure. In the afternoon, the wind was up more, I think today than it was yesterday. A couple of tough pins and without taking silly risks on a few of them, it's hard to get tight. All in all, I wasn't too disappointed. I felt a little slow all day. I slept a good nine hours, the best I've done for the last five or six days, and woke up feeling dead this morning. I guess that kind of showed in the middle of the round, not too much energy there. But all in all, not too much to complain about and just go out there and play a good, solid weekend."
