The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity received a welcome donation of £10,000 thanks to digital currency firm LIFElabs.io – the sponsor of this year’s GolfSixes Birdies for Good hole.
LIFElabs had committed to donating the equivalent of £500 of LIFEtokens every time a birdie was recorded on the second hole of the six-hole circuit over the weekend at Centurion Club in St Albans. But when a total of nine birdies took the amount to £4,500, LIFElabs decided to more than double their donation to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, an Official Charity Partner of GolfSixes alongside the European Tour Foundation.
LIFElabs is the first digital currency firm to partner with the European Tour and to sponsor a sporting event of this kind. One third of the company’s LIFEtoken total supply is ringfenced for philanthropic causes, worldwide – a driving factor in the GolfSixes partnership.
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. They ensure their nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.
From funding state-of-the-art equipment and ground-breaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, they will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.

The funds raised through GolfSixes will go towards The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity’s biggest ever capital appeal to build the new Clinical Care and Research Centre at The Royal Marsden in Sutton. This new Centre will give The Royal Marsden increased capacity to treat more patients in the best possible environments and, with researchers under the same roof as clinicians, there will be more accelerated progress in new treatments.
