Secured an emotional first European Tour victory at the 285th attempt at the 2018 Porsche European Open, just a week after claiming his third Challenge Tour crown in wire-to-wire fashion at Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge.

Took up the game after a PE teacher friend of his father gave him a cut-down club at the age of eight, and he proved to be a prodigious talent.

A member of the victorious 2001 Great Britain and Ireland Walker Cup team, he has also graduated from the Challenge Tour Rankings twice - in 2005, when he won the Panasonic Panama Open, and again in 2009.
